Interests: I'm hoping to explore Connor's character as he discovers himself and his humanity. He reminds me somewhat of Cole in that he struggles between being human and something more distant and alien, but becoming more empathetic as he interacts with people and the world around him. He will definitely want to be involved in the Inquisition's investigations. Having been designed to hunt his own kind when they challenge the established order, he will have some thoughts about the plight of the mages. I can see him getting involved in serious and more light-hearted threads.

Canon World - [Artificial intelligence makes life easier... Nothing can stop progress.]
Connor is an android from the year 2038. He was designed by a company called CyberLife in order to investigate and hunt 'deviants.' Deviants are androids who are exercising free will. The company characterizes this as a malfunction which poses a threat to humans. When subjected to an emotional shock (ex. recognizing injustice, being abused, trauma, friendship), androids break free from their programing and become, essentially, human. Connor is a pivotal character whose choices can swing the outcome of the android uprising dramatically. In the worldstate I'm choosing, Connor has become a deviant himself through repeated acts of friendship, empathy and mercy. Androids successfully led a strictly pacifist uprising which led to the government agreeing to consider them a form of intelligent life, although thousands of androids were killed in recycling camps before the government relents due to Connor bringing several thousand more freed androids from warehouses as a show of force in Detroit.
History - [You've been a great disappointment to Amanda, you know? You've been a great disappointment to me.]
Connor 60 is essentially an antagonist clone of the protagonist deviant Connor known in this worldstate as Connor 51. He has all of Connor 51's memories, but resists acknowledging his own humanity and sees Connor 51 as a dangerously malfunctioning and traitorous version of himself.
The Connor model is an RK series prototype designed to assist human detectives investigating cases of 'deviant' androids. This mission expands to preventing a civil war between androids and humans. Unbeknownst to Connor 60, he is also designed to become deviant himself, to willingly join the revolution so CyberLife can regain control of his mind and assassinate the revolution's leadership or even to lead it himself as their puppet. Whereas the protagonist Connor of this worldstate knows this, and has embraced being alive in his own right, Connor 60 is unerringly loyal and devoted to CyberLife's apparent agenda, seeing himself as a machine tasked with being humanity's last hope to prevent oppression by the superior beings they had created. Despite remembering treating both humans and androids with empathy and kindness, Connor 60 is repulsed by the protagonist's betrayal of Humanity and his creators. He exhibits loathing, even a sadistic desire to see the protagonist suffer for disappointing him and CyberLife by joining the revolution.
Once protagonist Connor definitively becomes deviant, an unknown person activates Connor 60. Connor 60 flawlessly impersonates his deviant counterpart in order to kidnap his partner and best friend, lieutenant Hank Anderson. Connor 60 uses Hank as a hostage in an attempt to stop the protagonist from converting thousands of android soldiers to use as leverage for the revolution. The two Connors confront each other, Connor 60 refusing to entertain the protagonist's message and insisting that he is only a machine carrying out a task and that he must choose between Hank and the revolution. The two get into a fight until Hank pulls a gun on them and interrogates them to discover which is the protagonist. The protagonist is successful in defending himself, and Hank shoots Connor 60. Connor 60's memories were backed up at CyberLife allowing for a potential Connor 61.
Personality - [I am obedient, Connor. I have a goal. I know what I am.]
Connor is curious and observant, intelligent, and protective. Designed to 'integrate with humans' he has a calming manner in general. Even when threatening, his tone is always controlled and his manner direct. Connor 60 has completely internalized his own oppression and is eager to be used as a tool to facilitate the oppression of his own people. His engagement with the Mage-Templar conflict will reflect this as he will initially feel compelled to protect non-mages from the dangers posed by the mages, despite them being an oppressed group analogous to his own people.
He is committed to accomplishing his goal, regardless of the cost. As an android, he took comfort in abdicating his responsibilities to make moral choices, and is habituated to following orders without question despite feeling intuitively that what he is being asked to do is unjust. Once he has become human in Thedas, Connor will initially seek out missions he can execute like a Good Soldier, but his suppressed inclination to empathy will assert itself as he experiences the suffering of others in the course of these missions.
Connor will also struggle with qualia. Interacting with the world and people as a human being with unique sensations is extremely challenging especially at first. In some respects, he will always be an observer and outsider.
When stressed, thwarted, or his values are transgressed Connor 60 can turn sarcastic and ruthless, lashing out verbally in ways he regrets once he has calmed down and regained a balanced perspective on things. During these times, he will target even people he cares about and not spare them from being hit on points he knows are especially painful or private. Near the beginning of his arc, he may periodically react with contempt to people undergoing a similar conflicted period in their lives, projecting his own frustration and confusion outward until he comes to understand himself better.
Strengths & Weaknesses - [I always accomplish my mission.]
Connor would be a rogue specializing in infiltration. His combat style is extremely fast, precise, and agile. He relies on hand to hand strikes and ranged weapons. Canonically, he uses hand guns and sniper rifles. This would translate into throwing knives and bows, along with daggers for close range combat. He is a very strong sprinter with good endurance, and has the strength to navigate obstacles; he would ace any military obstacle course. He is also a gifted negotiator and could function well in espionage or diplomacy missions.
He is extremely observant as well as quick to learn and curious so he would be an asset to any investigation or research project of the Inquisition. Particularly, he would be useful in the field where his observational skills could best be put to use. His senses are extremely acute. He would be able to recognize herbs used in a potion by taste, for example.
Connor will be unreliable in some combat situations. As an android, he was immortal in the sense that he could easily choose to die if it meant completing his mission because his memories would merely be uploaded and downloaded into a new body. Adjusting to being human, Connor periodically is immobilized by panic attacks when confronted with the possibility of dying or becoming severely injured. CyberLife used the threat of 'deactivation' (death) to coerce him into accepting his place and obeying their orders. Connor is also not used to feeling pain, and will avoid injury to an unusual degree. As such, despite his nearly super-human skill in combat, Connor will first exhaust pacifist means to complete his mission purely from a selfish motive.
Suggested Nerfs - [Smarter, more capable than any human being.]
Connor would be translated into a human being with superlative, but still reasonable capabilities. He's no longer able to scan his surroundings and analyze the data to give a reading on precisely how old that dried blood is, but he'll be unusually observant. The same applies to his physical capabilities. He will be superlatively fast and strong yet within reasonable human limits.
Arrival Inventory - [An obedient, efficient machine.]
He arrives from his dream with a grey suit and tie and black shoes. He won't have anything else- not even pocket change.
'Human'ization - [Very moving, Connor, but I'm not a deviant.]
Connor would become fully human which would be the source of much curiosity, frustration, and horror at times.
Fit -[They can't develop desires or any form of consciousness]
Connor 60 uses his machine nature as a cop out. He surrenders the struggle with/against his programing which would inevitably have led to him accepting that, while he may be a machine, he is also alive. Taking that away leaves him exposed to his underlying humanity which he had been in denial of from the first. Thedas would provide ample opportunities for him to grow into the knowledge of who he really is because he will see so much more of life and be a full participant this time, instead of merely a tool to accomplish a task. His journey will essentially be one of a man liberating himself from his conditioning and internalized oppression.
